All About Me

I am very much looking forward to creating a music video in the A2 Media Studies course as the first year has given me a taste of what is to come, and I am willing to work harder in order to create the best music video possible. Media is in my everyday life, through the films I watch and the music I listen to and I very much enjoy films that make me think like Inception, and the same can be said for my taste in music videos through the research I have already conducted.

Last year I worked with Will Pilkington and Jacob Caria-Preen to create the opening to a thriller film entitled Legion. I learnt a lot during the course and the fact that we had three people in our group meant that  the workload was a lot more than what it could've been but we managed perfectly and I feel this has been apt preparation for the A2 Course. During the creation of the opening I feel that we were very efficient in the planning stage as we found it very easy to come up with and shape different ideas.

Furthermore, having used special effects and Adobe After Effects for the first time the opening was a unique challenge to me and I believe it is something I thrived on and that this not only showed in our final grade but in our end product also. There were a few things that could have been handled better like our organisation in places as we had some trouble with actors also but this worked out for the best but I will make sure that our group is adept in the organisation department this time around.

In regard to the music videos I enjoy, Nickelback have produced some of the best music videos I have ever seen and I will be certainly looking to take a leaf out of their book when it comes to creating my own. 'Savin' Me', from the same group is a candidate for my favourite music video as not only does it tell a story but it leaves the audience feeling involved with the plot and the characters and this is something I will be hoping to achieve also.

I will be looking to learn from my mistakes and build on my experiences from the film opening that my group has created and I am fully aware that a music video will require a lot more work but I am ready to rise to this challenge. On this blog you will be able to follow every piece of work and research that I do to contribute to the music video that I can't wait to create and if one thing is for sure it's that AS Media has left me with a thirst that the second year of the course will quench.
